Thank you for attending our monthly meeting Creating & Sustaining Limited Equity Cooperatives in the District of Columbia! We also thank our knowledgeable speakers for platforming the issues, discussing solutions, and giving us insight into what this means for District residents now and in the future: Kathryn Howell of Virginia Commonwealth University, Amber Gruner of Housing Counseling Services, Ramon Jacobson of LISC DC, Alison Powers of Capital Impact Partners, and Elin Zurbrigg of Mi Casa. The LEC Report examines the history and current neighborhood characteristics of LECs, opportunities and challenges for LECs, practices in other jurisdictions aimed at addressing some of these challenges, and offers specific goals and recommended strategies for the creation and sustainability of LECs in the District.
