Community Champion Award

The Coalition’s Community Champion Award honors a Washington, DC resident who has made a meaningful and lasting impact in their neighborhood through advocacy, organizing, or grassroots leadership. This award celebrates those who lead with integrity, inspire collective action, and work tirelessly to improve the lives of their neighbors. Whether amplifying community voices, advancing local campaigns, or building stronger, more resilient neighborhoods, The Coalition’s Community Champion embodies the spirit of resident-led change.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Must reside in Washington, DC.

Must be a community leader, advocate, or organizer who is not employed as a professional practitioner in the community development field.

Must demonstrate a clear track record of impact through community-based leadership or advocacy efforts.

Must have earned the respect and trust of their community through collaboration, consistency, and care.

Must be nominated by a current Coalition member.
