  • Building Maintenance Service Tech Instructor SOME CET

    SOME (So Others Might Eat) provides material aid and comfort to our vulnerable neighbors in Washington, DC, helping them break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through programs and services that save lives, improve lives, and help transform the lives of individuals and families, their communities, and the systems and structures that affect them.

    SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking a passionate and experienced Building Maintenance Service Technician Instructor to join our Center for Employment Training. This role is responsible for developing and delivering a dynamic, hands-on curriculum that prepares adult learners for careers in building maintenance. The instructor will manage the classroom environment, coordinate curriculum development, and help students gain both technical skills and workplace readiness to thrive in the industry.

    Compensation:
    Employees receive a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects organizational culture, mission, and core values. The salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $68,739.84 and is commensurate with experience.

  • Director of Organizing and Systems Change Bread for the City

    The mission of Bread for the City is to help Washington, DC residents living with low income to develop their power to determine the future of their own communities. We provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty. We seek justice through community organizing and public advocacy.     The Director of Organizing & Systems Change works with our clients, community members and staff to lead the Advocacy & Organizing Department’s work. As the Director, this leader is responsible for building out and shaping the direction of the Advocacy & Organizing Department in partnership with client leaders. In addition, this person is responsible for base building among our clients and community members, as well as supervising the incoming Advocacy & Organizing staff member who will focus on supporting Bread’s organization-wide and departmental advocacy efforts.

    The ideal candidate for this position will have a depth of experience in local community organizing and demonstrated expertise in driving social change. Preferred candidates will bring lived experience relevant to our work, as well as a strong understanding of the DC governmental and organizing landscape. The candidate is expected to excel in building trusting relationships with community members experiencing poverty and in coaching and developing leadership among individuals who have accessed social services in the DC metro area.

  • Program Officer LISC Washington, DC

    LISC DC is seeking a multi-skilled individual with a passion for strengthening DC’s affordable housing stock through effective and thoughtful technical assistance, financial investment and capacity building activities. This position is a year-long contract (estimated May 2026- May 2027) that would focus on implementation of the organization’s 3C (Connecting Capital to Communities) initiative that supports small multi-family (5-49 unit) affordable buildings in DC neighborhoods. It invites people to apply who have experience working with diverse populations in the Washington, D.C. region and who possess general expertise in housing with a particular focus on real estate development, building or property management and/or underwriting.

    The Program Officer will successfully promote the mission and value of LISC DC to its community partners and stakeholders. The Program Officer reports directly to the Deputy Director and collaborates with other staff as needed as part of the 3C initiative.

  • Tenant Organizer Housing Counseling Services, Inc.

    Housing Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking a Tenant Organizer to join a collaborative team who work with tenant groups in DC facing bad housing conditions, pressure to move, the sale of their property, and other threats to their housing. A primary role of the organizer is to help tenant associations understand and exercise their rights under the District’s Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA), which gives tenant associations the first right to purchase when buildings are for sale. The Organizer meets with tenants in their buildings and helps tenants through the process of exercising TOPA rights, ensuring all deadlines are met, collaborating with attorneys, local government agencies, interested purchasers, development consultants, and other necessary partners.

    Salary/Benefits: $65,000-$73,000 depending on experience. Excellent benefits. Flexible hours that require evening meetings approximately three to four days a week.

  • Real Estate Development Manager Manna Inc.

    Manna, Inc. is a nonprofit developer of affordable rental and homeownership housing, a condominium and homeowner association manager, and a HUD-approved housing counseling agency operating in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Since its founding in 1982, Manna has invested over $350 million in District of Columbia neighborhoods and has helped over 2,000 low- and moderate-income households become homeowners.

    Manna’s approach is to perform development functions in-house through its development staff and partner closely with its sales/marketing and homebuyer education and counseling teams, with select joint venture arrangements.

    Manna’s real estate functions occur in the Project Development department, which focuses on developing and building high-quality affordable rental and homeownership projects.

    The Development Manager will help advance Manna’s strategic housing priorities, including expansion into local jurisdictions in Maryland and Virginia through preservation, affordable homeownership, and new development opportunities.

    Compensation: The budgeted salary is $95,000 – $120,000 commensurate with experience.  Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, disability, 401K, FSA, and parking subsidy.
