
CNHED is partnering with the Deputy Mayor of Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) for an informational briefing about the Neighborhood Prosperity Fund (NPF) along with a panel discussion on Wednesday, March 9 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am.
Participating on the panel are Alexander Justice Moore, Chief Development Officer at DC Central Kitchen, who is a past NPF recipient, Liz Anderson, Great Streets Retail Small Business Director, and Sonja Sanders Wells, Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, City First Bank, who will provide financing best practices. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about DMPED’s Locally Made Manufacturing Grant Program.
About the Neighborhood Prosperity Fund
NPF will award up to $4M in total grants to incentivize community development, economic growth, and job creation by leveraging local funds to finance eligible projects that attract private investment to distressed communities. Grant funds can support architectural and engineering costs, construction costs, tenant improvements, historical preservation building improvements to maintain compliance with applicable laws, development analysis, rent reduction, and tenant concessions for up to 3 years to stabilize market rent. The minimum request per application is $250,000.

About Locally Made Manufacturing Grant Program
For the Locally Made Grant, DMPED will award up to $500,000 total in grants to assist existing small businesses whose core business is aligned with light manufacturing and located within the program’s geographic area. This program recognizes the disruption and factors that the COVID-19 global pandemic is having on the manufacturing supply chains and its impact on small businesses. of the COVID-19 global pandemic and public health emergency. As a result, there is an increasing need to manufacture and procure consumer goods locally. The maximum request per application is $100,000.
