The Coalition does not place individuals in housing, provide housing counseling, or give legal advice on individual matters. However, many of the nonprofit members and partners that we support through advocacy and training are experts in those areas.

As the technical assistance arm of The Coalition, the Advancing Communities Institute (ACI) helps jurisdictions, community-based organizations, and local governments design, implement, and scale strategies that create vibrant, resilient, and thriving communities.

Whether launching new initiatives or strengthening existing systems, ACI brings the practical experience, tools, and partnerships needed to turn ideas into sustained impact.

The Center for Practical Research is a Coalition project with an emphasis on fostering on-the-ground change in city policy, and improving living conditions for the most vulnerable residents of the District.
