Cierra Jones, Systems Change VISTA at Community Opportunity Alliance, and The Coalition are proud to share her journey as an AmeriCorps VISTA member.

After being laid off during the recession of 1991, Genell Anderson opened the AMAR Group from her home.  Today, AMAR Group, LLC is a multidisciplinary practice encompassing architecture, civil engineering, and inspections.

Ronnie moved to DC six years ago with her family, looking to build a life and a career, in the District where access to affordable housing is one of the largest issues communities face.

For 35 years, Isaac has lived in Washington, DC, where he grew up deeply connected to the Community for Creative Non-Violence (CCNV). In Spring 2022, Isaac was calling CCNV home when he received a forwarded email about the Coalition’s Community Voices Academy that was circulating through a church listerv, and things started to shift.

When The Coalition began forming its DC Community Anchor Partnership (DCAP) in 2017, Children’s National Hospital’s government affairs team quickly recognized the alignment with their internal values. They introduced the initiative to supply chain leadership, and Ashley E. Wilson, MHSA, Executive Director of Supply Chain Services, has been engaged ever since.

We are proud to share our 2025 Impact report, charting our journey throughout the year. From the ups to the pivots to the deep systemic impact, we were honored to serve as a beacon to community organizations, local leaders, and District residents.
